Course Description

The Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Apprenticeship combines the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary to become a registered Veterinary Nurse.

You will be employed within a veterinary practice and attend DWA 1 day a week to attend lectures with our team who are experienced in the delivery of veterinary nurse training. This 1 day a week is part of the Off the Job Training that you must complete as part of your Apprenticeship. Completing exams and assignments, learning practical skills and recording them in your E-portfolio will achieve the remainder of this

Tessa Croucher

Tess has worked in the veterinary profession for over 15 years. Having qualified in 2006, she spent 2 years in general practice before moving into referrals. Tess then moved from nursing to education.

Kelly Winstanley

Kelly spent many years working in practice with a wide variety of species, including small animals, equine, farm animals and exotics. She taught veterinary nursing and animal management from 2014 until joining the Dick White Academy in 2018.

Laura George

Laura joins DWA as a lecturer following many years as a veterinary nurse in a large referral centre. Laura has a special interest in emergency and critical care nursing and enjoys working with the next generation of veterinary nurses.

Sally Petts

Sally worked in both first opinion and referral hospitals, enjoying intensive care and emergency work, before deciding on a change of career to veterinary nurse teaching. She joined DWR in 2018.

Angel Green

Angel is an experienced veterinary lecturer who has worked in a combination of both general and referral practice. Angel has a keen interest in laboratory skills and is a great champion for the mental health of our learners.
